Bryn Sarr
Species
Goliath
Appearance
Bryn Sarr is an enormous goliath with the compact, weathered strength of someone who has hauled wet rope, lifted floodgates, and slept on stone platforms more often than in a bed. His slate-gray skin is patterned with pale mineral freckles across the shoulders and forearms, like chalk dust caught beneath the surface. He has a broad, heavy jaw and blunt square teeth, several capped in dull brass from years of cracking river nuts and chewing reed-stems during council sessions. His laugh shows nearly all of them at once, which makes it unexpectedly boyish for a man whose silence can stop a room. He moves with careful economy, never wasting a gesture, yet his hands constantly measure invisible distances as though mapping canals in the air. The contradictory impression is immediate: he looks like a siege engine dressed for work, but he handles cups, children, and injured laborers with extraordinary delicacy.
“Low, rough, and rhythmically measured, like a baritone spoken over the creak of a working lock. Bryn rarely raises his volume.”

Distinguishing Features
Brass caps cover the lower corners of his broad front teeth, worn smooth where he habitually bites them during negotiations.
He always carries a short blue measuring cord whose final knot has been polished almost white by constant handling.
His left thumb bears a permanent dark stain from canal-marking ink.
His laugh begins as a low rumble in his chest and ends in an abrupt barking burst.
He smells faintly of river stone, lamp oil, and mint leaves.
Voice
“A deep, weathered baritone with a gravelly edge, softer than expected in private and capable of carrying across an entire market without sounding strained.”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal council coat reinforced with overlapping strips of boiled leather, a copper clasp shaped like a sluice gate, heavy work trousers, and soft-soled boots suitable for silent movement across wet masonry. His formal mantle is a faded blue canal map stitched with market tokens.
Body Language
Bryn stands with his feet planted wide and his shoulders lowered, giving the impression that he is bracing the room. When attentive, he rests two fingers against a nearby wall or table. When angry, he becomes nearly motionless except for a slow flex of his brass-capped teeth.
