Appearance
Shirin Qaz is a composed human woman whose presence makes a room feel measured and rationed. Her skin is fine-grained and sun-dried across the forehead and hands, while the sheltered skin beneath her jaw remains unexpectedly soft. She moves with a deliberate, nearly frictionless glide, favoring neither foot, but stopping so completely that people sometimes mistake her for a carved figure. Her brows are perfectly shaved, leaving a broad, unnervingly clean span above her dark eyes. The unexpected contradiction is her hands: despite her ceremonial robes and courtly bearing, her palms are rough with old rope burns and cracked at the knuckles from years of hauling emergency water during flood and drought alike. She leaves behind an impression of stillness under pressure, like a sealed jar trembling on a shelf.
“Precise, low, and unhurried. She leaves a deliberate pause before important nouns, as if weighing them.”

Distinguishing Features
Perfectly shaved brows that make her expressions seem more extreme than they are.
An empty brass seal ring, polished smooth on its inner edge.
Rough, rope-burned palms beneath immaculate sleeves.
A gliding walk that becomes absolutely motionless whenever someone lies.
A faint mineral scent clinging to her robes, like wet stone after a dry season.
Voice
“A low contralto with a dry edge, like water poured over gravel. When speaking privately to children or the exhausted, she becomes unexpectedly gentle.”
Clothing
Layered white robes of linen, gauze, and tightly woven cotton, each hem marked with a different blue thread indicating an administrative rank. Beneath them she wears a sleeveless sand-colored work tunic. Her belt carries wax tablets, a brass water measure, a narrow staff, and the empty seal ring she polishes when anxious.
Body Language
Shirin stands with her shoulders relaxed, chin slightly lowered, and both hands visible. When listening, she angles her body toward the speaker without blinking often. When anxious, her right thumb circles the empty seal ring on her left index finger until the brass warms.
