Jorren Ash-Knot
Rogue (Assassin) 12 / Monk (Way of Shadows) 3
Jorren Ash-Knot
Species
Tiefling
Appearance
Jorren is a slender tiefling with pale ash-gray skin that has the dry, powdery texture of old charcoal. His swept-back obsidian horns are ridged like burnt tree roots, and one bears three brass tally marks cut into the surface. His dead, expressionless eyes rarely blink, giving the unsettling impression that he is always waiting for someone else to reveal a weakness. He moves with almost noiseless economy, never quite seeming to place his feet where observers expect them. His dark charcoal leather garb fits like a second skin beneath a high-collared matte-black cloak that seems to swallow torchlight rather than reflect it. The contradiction is in his hands: they are small, elegant, and meticulously moisturized, with immaculate nails and the soft appearance of a court clerk's hands, despite the violence they have performed. He leaves behind an impression of cold ash, sealed documents, and a room that has suddenly become too quiet.
“Quiet, exact, and nearly affectless. His words arrive with deliberate pauses, as though each sentence has been checked against a private record.”

Distinguishing Features
Three brass tally marks carved into the left horn
Eyes that remain open during apparent sleep
A black cord tied around his right wrist in an intricate knot that has never been untied
A faint burn scar shaped like a closed eye beneath his tongue
His shadow occasionally lags half a second behind his movements
Voice
“A low, dry murmur with the faint rasp of paper dragged across stone. His infernal accent is almost completely gone, except when he says his sister's name.”
Clothing
Form-fitting dark charcoal leather garb, soft-soled split boots, a matte-black high-collared cloak, fingerless gloves, hidden wire spools, and a narrow belt carrying sealed audit slips instead of pouches
Body Language
Jorren stands unnaturally still, with his hands folded behind his back and his chin slightly lowered. His head turns before his eyes do. When someone lies, one thumb rubs slowly across the nearest knuckle. He leans closer only when delivering a promise or a death sentence.
