Nimma Brukhan
Wizard
Nimma Brukhan
Species
Rock Gnome
Appearance
Nimma is a young female gnome standing just over three feet tall, with a broad, delighted smile beneath a prodigious nose that gives her face the cheerful authority of a tiny magistrate. Her warm brown skin has a soft, matte texture, while her bright hazel eyes rarely look directly at a speaker for more than a heartbeat. Instead, they dart to buckles, hinges, pockets, ceiling beams, and anything else that might contain a mechanism or a secret. Fair hair sticks outward in every direction, fine as thistledown but stubborn as wire, as though each strand is trying to investigate a separate mystery. She moves with quick, economical bursts, often leaning forward before her feet have decided to follow. The unexpected contradiction is that her hands are remarkably gentle. She can dismantle a spring-loaded trap without bending a pin, yet routinely knocks over cups, stools, and sleeping cats while turning to explain what she has discovered.
“Fast, bright, and precise, with sudden pauses whenever she notices an object worth examining. Her voice becomes soft and carefully measured when discussing Tovrik or the Listening Engine.”

Distinguishing Features
Her hair sticks outward like a pale, living burst of curiosity.
Her eyes constantly map the room's exits, mechanisms, and unattended valuables rather than resting on faces.
She unconsciously touches and retunes the brass button at her throat whenever she hears a mysterious sound.
Her broad smile remains visible even during furious arguments, making her anger seem almost cheerful.
Her embroidered coat contains tiny hidden pockets, each labeled with a stitched symbol only she understands.
Voice
“A clear, eager contralto with a slight rasp at the edges, like a polished gear turning against a dry spring.”
Clothing
She wears modest umber trousers, a moss-green sleeveless coat, and a cream blouse covered in elaborate copper-thread embroidery depicting gears, roots, beetles, and tiny stars. Small garnets are set into the coat clasps, while embossed leather pouches hang at her hips. Her boots are practical, scuffed, and fitted with concealed metal toe caps. A broad brass button at her throat contains a concealed tuning fork.
Body Language
Nimma constantly checks the brass button at her throat with two fingertips. Her shoulders pitch forward when curious and draw rigidly back when ashamed. She crouches to speak with children, animals, and anyone she considers overlooked. When lying, she becomes unusually still and stares directly into a person's eyes.
