Kubat Tögel
Fighter, Battle Master
Kubat Tögel
Species
Elf
Appearance
Kubat Tögel is a tall, narrow-shouldered elf whose stillness feels more threatening than most people's movement. He has the careful posture of a soldier who spent decades standing watch, but his hands are broad, reddened, and permanently rough from hauling barrels and scrubbing tables. He smells unmistakably of juniper smoke, sourdough, and the bitter orange peel he drops into every pot of stew. He knows the juniper scent clings to him and uses it deliberately, claiming that people confess more readily when they associate a person with warmth. His grooming is otherwise severe: his silver hair is cut short at the sides and tied into a small, perfectly square knot at the nape. The unexpected contradiction is his laugh, which is loud, sudden, and almost boyish, entirely at odds with his watchful face. He moves economically, turning his whole body instead of merely his head, as if every room still has corners that might contain an ambush.
“His voice is low, dry, and measured, with clipped consonants and the occasional unexpected proverb. He speaks like a man recording testimony, even when discussing stew.”

The strong scent of juniper smoke and bitter orange clings to him even after bathing.
His silver hair is tied into a small square knot that never seems to loosen.
He has a habit of silently counting doorways, windows, and possible exits whenever he enters a room.
His laugh is startlingly loud and youthful compared with his stern, disciplined appearance.
The palms of his hands are permanently rough from both sword drills and years of kneading bread.
Voice
“Low and dry, with clipped consonants, deliberate pauses, and a sudden booming laugh that makes nearby bottles tremble.”
Clothing
A dark green wool vest over a cream linen shirt, reinforced trousers, soft boots, and a faded watch sergeant's sash worn beneath his apron. His apron has been mended with thread in three different colors, each from a different former uniform.
Body Language
He stands with his weight balanced over both feet, one hand usually resting near a weapon or the nearest heavy object. When relaxed, he leans against the bar and tilts his head toward people rather than looking directly at them. When lying, he becomes unusually courteous and begins polishing an already clean cup.
