Sella Thorn
Fighter, Battle Master
Sella Thorn
Species
Half-Orc
Appearance
Sella is a broad, stocky half-orc with shoulders shaped by years of hauling nets, splitting driftwood, and bracing against Saltmere gales. Her skin is muted gray-green, roughened by salt and wind, with a pale scar running from the corner of her mouth to the hinge of her jaw. Her black hair is shaved close on one side and gathered into heavy cords on the other. A braided beard grows along her chin and throat, threaded with tiny shells that click softly when she turns her head. She moves with deliberate economy, planting each foot as though the ground might shift beneath her. Her hands are callused and scarred, yet she handles fragile seashells with the care of a jeweler. The unexpected contradiction is her face: intimidating at first glance, but capable of an almost shy gentleness when she tends an injured animal or listens to a frightened child.
“Low, rough, and unhurried, with the rasp of smoke-dried wood. She pauses before important answers, listening to the air as if it might object.”

Distinguishing Features
Pale blue eyes that reflect almost silver in storm light.
A braided beard decorated with mussel shells, gull bones, and one red bead from her dead father's fishing net.
A pale scar from the corner of her mouth to her jaw.
A faint whistle follows her breathing when she is exhausted.
She always smells of smoke, even after bathing.
The shells in her beard click in a different rhythm when unnatural wind moves nearby.
Voice
“A deep contralto with a dry rasp, steady enough to cut through rain and harbor noise”
Clothing
A smoke-dark wool coat reinforced with strips of cured eel hide, a salt-stained red sash, broad trousers tucked into knee-high harbor boots, and a hooded oilskin mantle clasped with a chipped fragment of blue stone. Her clothing smells of woodsmoke, brine, and old iron.
Body Language
Sella keeps her chin lowered and her pale eyes lifted, measuring people from beneath her brow. Her fingers often brush the shells in her beard. When someone speaks honestly about danger, she squares her stance and gives them her full attention. When she suspects deceit, one thumb presses against the scar beside her mouth.
