Appearance
Kethra Gaitk stands just over six feet tall, with scales that resemble hammered gold heated from within. They are not uniformly bright: the plates along her shoulders and spine gleam like coins, while the smaller scales around her wrists and jaw have a dull, grainy texture like old brass. She walks with her weight slightly forward and to the left, as if perpetually stepping toward an argument before deciding whether to make it. When waiting, she rests one hand against her opposite elbow and becomes unnervingly still, but her long tail taps a precise rhythm against the floor. Her robes are deep indigo, nearly black in candlelight, with stiff geometric pleats that make her seem taller and more severe. The contradiction is in her hands: broad, clawed, and built for violence, yet usually occupied with tiny acts of care such as straightening a servant's collar or repairing a torn ribbon.

She wears soft traveling boots instead of court slippers, a narrow belt for her rapier, and a single red cord around her left wrist that belonged to her missing sister.
Body Language
Kethra keeps her chin lifted and her shoulders square, but her tail betrays her mood by tapping, curling tightly, or going completely rigid. During negotiation she leans toward the other person by a fraction, as though physically pulling their words into a contract. When she lies, she carefully folds one sleeve over the opposite wrist.
