Appearance
Fizzle is a compact gnome with a soot-darkened face, a narrow jaw, and the permanently startled expression of someone who has just heard a pipe groan behind a wall. His fingers are long, nimble, and scarred by hot metal, with copper wire wrapped around two knuckles as makeshift measuring loops. He moves in abrupt, efficient bursts, stopping mid-step whenever he senses a vibration, then leaning toward the nearest wall as if listening to a sleeping animal. His beard is braided into nine uneven cords, each tipped with a different brass weight used to detect tremors. Despite his grimy industrial appearance, he wears one immaculate white silk sock under his left boot, a sentimental keepsake from a childhood festival. He leaves behind the impression of a frantic sparrow trapped inside a clockwork cathedral.

A reinforced charcoal work coat with dozens of stitched pockets, heat-resistant gloves, a leather harness carrying slate tablets, copper calipers, chalk tubes, and folded measuring cords. His coat is patched with guild badges from three rival engineering houses. He wears heavy iron-toed boots, one of which contains a hidden listening diaphragm.
Body Language
Fizzle constantly shifts his weight from foot to foot, taps rhythms against his thighs, and angles his head toward walls, floors, and pipes. When excited, he writes in the air with one finger. When lying, he becomes completely still, which is so unlike his normal behavior that observant players may notice immediately.
