Appearance
Gethin Kettig is a tall tiefling with wine-red skin that looks almost black in candlelight, as though soot has settled beneath the surface. His horns sweep backward in uneven ridges, one polished smooth by years of nervous touching while the other remains chipped near the tip. His black hair is cut close at the sides and tied at the nape with red thread. He moves with the measured economy of a fencer, never wasting a step, yet his long tail betrays every emotion by tapping, coiling, or lashing behind him. He leaves an impression of immaculate control undermined by the faint smell of burnt sugar and the constant glint of sleeplessness beneath his eyes. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: callused and scarred like a dockworker's, despite his aristocratic dress.
“His voice is a low, dry baritone with precise diction. He speaks as if every sentence has been written into a contract, but emotion roughens his consonants and makes his Infernal accent briefly audible.”

Distinguishing Features
One horn is chipped and polished smooth at the tip.
A thin scar runs from the left corner of his mouth to his jaw.
His tail has a white band near the end, caused by a childhood burn.
His left hand is heavily callused from years of sword practice and hauling grain sacks.
He wears a family signet ring turned inward so the crest touches his palm.
His shadow sometimes appears to bow a moment after he does.
Voice
“Measured, gravelly, and intimate, with the controlled warmth of a magistrate who knows exactly how much silence a room can bear.”
Clothing
A charcoal-blue riding coat with burgundy lining, high black boots, a stiff white collar, and a sleeveless armored vest concealed beneath layers of velvet. His brass buttons bear the Kettig seal, but several have been replaced with cheap wooden copies. He wears one immaculate glove on his sword hand and leaves the other bare.
Body Language
He stands very still when listening, with his hands folded over the head of his cane. His tail gives away irritation by tapping twice against the floor, while grief makes it curl tightly around his ankle. When he lies, he touches the smooth horn on his left side.
