Dwarf
Appearance
Kettlestream is a compact young dwarf with a brilliant cobalt-blue beard that fans outward like wet brush bristles and reaches nearly to her belt. The beard is rough at the ends, singed in places, and threaded with copper wire, carnival beads, and tiny labeled tags. Her bushy eyebrows nearly meet above a broad nose marked by a pale scar. She moves with the cautious sideways balance of someone accustomed to low ceilings, placing each foot as if testing a floor for hollowness. Her hands are callused and permanently dusted with silver-gray grit. Despite her dirty robes, patched boots, and tunnel-stained elbows, she keeps one immaculate white glove tucked into her belt, a strange remnant of her family's formal mining dress.
“Her voice is low, quick, and gravelly, with crisp consonants and a habit of clipping the ends off words. When nervous, she speaks in bursts separated by tiny listening pauses.”

Distinguishing Features
Brilliant cobalt-blue beard threaded with copper wire and carnival beads.
A pale scar crossing the bridge of her nose.
Fingertips permanently stained silver-gray.
A white formal glove that never seems to collect dust.
One lower tooth capped in polished brass.
A faint blue glow sometimes flickers beneath her beard when she is near enchanted metal.
Voice
“A rough contralto with a metallic rasp, like a file dragged across a kettle. When she is sincerely grateful, the rasp disappears and her voice sounds surprisingly young.”
Clothing
Dusty plum robes patched with sailcloth, old carnival banners, and stitched fragments of leather. Her sleeves are reinforced for crawling through stone, her boots have soft soles for quiet movement, and a battered brass clasp shaped like a kettle holds her cloak. A white glove is tucked into her belt, always clean despite the rest of her clothing.
Body Language
Kettlestream keeps her shoulders tucked inward in open spaces, but becomes physically expansive in tunnels. She grips her beard when thinking, taps her left boot against stone when lying, and angles her body between strangers and her satchel. When ashamed, she hides both hands inside her sleeves.
