General Cutler Vharess

Level 12·Male·Medium
Lawful Neutral (leans Lawful Good in action)

Species

Drow (Dark Elf)

Appearance

Cutler moves like a carved statue made for war: precise, economical, and inexorably forward. His warplate is mottled with pitted scars and faintly iridescent burn marks where magic met steel; one paulron bears the dented visage of a crowned skull. His cloak is a patchwork of banners from defeated enemies, each stitch a recorded campaign. Skin as dark as oil, features gaunt with age but eyes bright with a feral sparkle. He often stands with his sword tip resting on the ground, one hand over the pommel, the other clasping a faded banner on a short staff. Unexpectedly, when he relaxes, he tends to untie the ribbons in his hair and braid them around his fingers like a child playing with a string — a small, almost tender habit that contradicts his imposing bearing.

Height6'2" (drow measure tall for elves)
BuildLean, wiry, and deceptively muscular - sinew honed by centuries of maneuvering in armor
EyesPale violet with flecks of molten gold
HairAsh-silver braided with small field-ribbons
SkinDeep obsidian with silvered creases

Measured, gravelly but still with that crisp elocution of a commander. Uses short declarative sentences in battle; in private, his voice softens with surprising warmth.”

Distinguishing Features

A long pale scar running from temple to jaw that glows faintly when he swears an oath

A missing ring finger on his left hand replaced by a slender iron ring used as a ritual focus

A braided ribbon for each major victory tied into his hair (27 ribbons)

A small silver circlet dented and stained; he wears it only when addressing troops

Voice

Low, dry, with the rasp of someone who has barked orders in storms; ceremonial when addressing troops, almost grandfatherly in private.

Clothing

Heavy, battle-scarred blackened plate with inset midnight-blue lacquer; under it, a tunic of dark velvet embroidered with the Black Banner's sigil. A tattered banner is slung across his back. Several faith tokens—diminished from their original brilliance—hang at his throat.

Body Language

Economical and disciplined: squared shoulders, precise footing, slow deliberate gestures; when tired, he leans on his sword and watches like a captain scanning sea-churn.
