Karren Bolt

Karren Bolt
Species
Blue Dragonborn
Appearance
Karren Bolt is a rugged blue dragonborn whose deep indigo scales have the matte, weathered texture of river stones after a storm. Fine lightning scars thread across his shoulders, ribs, and forearms, while tiny pale flecks of old shrapnel remain embedded beneath several scales like dull stars. His amber eyes are sharp and constantly measuring, rarely lingering on faces when he can study posture, hands, or breath instead. His crest is shaved close, except for one long braided tail that hangs behind his skull and is bound with copper wire. He moves with unsettling quiet for someone so large, his heavy greaves touching down with the certainty of a metronome. The contradictory impression is that of a siege engine practicing courtesy: immense, battered, and capable of sudden violence, yet almost absurdly careful not to disturb a cup, banner, or sleeping soldier.
“Low, clipped, and economical. Karren's voice has a dry rasp beneath it, like distant thunder heard through stone.”

Distinguishing Features
A single long braid trails from his otherwise shaved crest and is bound with copper wire that faintly hums during storms.
His scales carry embedded pale shrapnel flecks across the shoulders and ribs, resembling a sparse constellation.
He habitually touches the copper wire in his crest whenever someone makes a false solemn declaration.
His footsteps are almost silent despite his iron-weighted greaves.
His breath whistles faintly through one nostril when he is amused, producing a sound like a kettle beginning to boil.
Voice
“A deep baritone with a controlled rumble, usually quiet enough that listeners must stop talking to hear him. When he gives an order, the sound sharpens into a clean percussive crack.”
Clothing
Reinforced monastic fighting wraps cover his forearms and hands over articulated chainmail plates. He wears a dark, weather-worn travelling cloak fastened by a stormglass clasp, a sleeveless marshal's coat marked with quiet blue thread, and heavy iron-weighted greaves scarred by years of marching through broken glass.
Body Language
Karren stands with his weight balanced over the balls of his feet, shoulders loose, hands folded behind his back. He turns his head slightly when listening, as though hearing through walls. His thumb repeatedly checks the copper wire in his crest braid. During danger, he becomes nearly motionless, and that stillness is more alarming than any roar.
