Appearance
Salla stands rigidly upright even when exhausted, as if her spine were a tent peg driven into wet earth. Rain beads on her pale ivory skin and gathers in the warm freckles scattered over her nose, shoulders, and collarbones. Her jaw is narrow and strong, her nose straight, and her pressed lips give her the look of someone silently judging the quality of a roof. Deep brown eyes hold a small amber warmth around the pupils, usually half-hidden beneath uneven dark-brown hair that falls to her jaw and veils one eye. Faint bowstring calluses stripe her bare forearms, while her palms are roughened by rope, wet leather, and years of carrying crates rather than polished weapons. She moves with a quiet, economical precision, but when startled she becomes strangely still instead of flinching. The unexpected contradiction is that her severe, watchful presence is paired with an almost domestic tenderness toward broken tools, stray animals, and anyone shivering in the rain.
“Low, clipped, and calm. Salla rarely raises her volume, even during danger.”

Distinguishing Features
A plain bronze bangle is worn on her right wrist and is never removed, even while sleeping.
Her forearms carry faint parallel bowstring calluses, while her palms are rough with rope burns and leatherwork.
Her hair repeatedly falls across one eye, and she refuses to cut or pin it back during a conversation.
Her boots make almost no sound despite their heavy stitching and patched soles.
She smells faintly of wet wool, bow oil, and crushed juniper.
Voice
“A low contralto with a slight rasp, as though every sentence has passed through cold rain. When she is kind, the rasp softens. When she is furious, her voice becomes nearly formal.”
Clothing
A charcoal half-cloak drapes over fitted chain mail, dark trousers, and soft-soled boots darkened by rain. A rust-red sash carries her plain longsword and utility knife. A faded blue armband circles her upper left arm. A worn leather bow case and quiver sit behind her shoulder, both patched with mismatched thread.
Body Language
Salla keeps her shoulders square and her weight balanced over the balls of her feet. One hand often rests near her sword belt while the other turns a plain bronze bangle around her wrist. She rarely points, preferring a small tilt of the chin. When someone lies, she stops blinking for several seconds.
