Borz
Barbarian, Path of the Berserker
Borz
Species
Lizardfolk
Appearance
Borz appears without seeming to enter. One moment there is empty space, and the next there is a hunched mass of gray-green scales occupying it. He stands a little over two meters tall when fully upright, though he habitually stoops as if every doorway is a low branch and every ceiling might collapse. His immense torso is bare, layered with ropey muscle and overlapping scales that rasp softly when he moves. Despite his size, he walks with the nearly silent balance of a marsh predator, placing each foot with deliberate care and never quite shifting his weight where observers expect. His alligator-like head is broad and blunt, with a mouth crowded by uneven teeth, several broken and one replaced by a polished brass cap. The left eye is pinched nearly shut beneath a smooth white scar. The right eye is yellow and slit-pupiled, but it often watches people with something almost gentle. The unexpected contradiction is his hands: huge, clawed, and visibly made for tearing, yet capable of threading tiny bone beads onto cord with a jeweler's precision. He leaves behind an impression of imminent violence held in check by exhausted patience.
“His voice is deep, dry, and surprisingly quiet, with long pauses between statements. He speaks Common in blunt phrases and Draconic in fluid, rapid bursts when angry.”

Distinguishing Features
A brass cap replaces one upper tooth and clicks softly when he speaks.
His left eye is nearly sealed by a pale scar, while his right eye is unnervingly bright yellow.
A faded blue scarf is tied around his left wrist despite his otherwise severe clothing.
His scales bear hundreds of scars, including three perfectly parallel marks across his throat.
He carries bone beads made from the teeth of creatures he failed to save.
Voice
“Low and gravelly, with a wet rasp beneath the words. His speech becomes almost tender when addressing the dead and completely flat when issuing a threat.”
Clothing
A weathered leather harness crosses his bare chest and holds a club, coils of cord, and small tools. He wears a rough hide loincloth reinforced with reed stitching, a belt of flattened copper rings, and bone amulets carved from the remains of enemies and friends. A faded blue scarf is tied around his left wrist, the only item he keeps clean.
Body Language
Borz keeps his shoulders rounded and his chin low, making his bulk seem contained. His tail, usually hidden beneath his leather wrap, taps once against the ground when he is suspicious and lies perfectly still when he is frightened. He rarely gestures with his hands. Instead, he turns his whole body toward whoever is speaking, an attentive motion that feels uncomfortably like a predator lining up a bite.
