Mavruq
Cleric, Forge Domain
Mavruq
Species
Hill Dwarf
Appearance
Mavruq is a broad-shouldered male hill dwarf whose body seems built from compact, practical weight rather than bulk. His skin is deep umber with a faint copper sheen around his knuckles and cheekbones, as though he has spent years standing before open furnaces. His beard is thick, dark brown, and threaded with premature silver, but its lower half is shaved into three blunt cords tied with tiny brass rings. He walks with a rolling, deliberate gait that becomes startlingly quick when someone is in danger. His left hand is permanently stained black from thumb to wrist, while his right hand is kept obsessively clean. The contradictory impression he leaves is of a weathered smith who smells of smoke, hot iron, and orange blossom water.
“Measured and gravelly, with careful pauses. His voice becomes surprisingly soft when speaking to the injured or the dead.”

Distinguishing Features
A blackened left hand with silver scars crossing the palm like a cracked map.
Three brass beard rings stamped with the names of miners who died beneath the Ember Basilica.
A tiny iron bell sewn into the inside of his cloak, which rings only when undead are nearby.
A missing lower canine tooth that makes one side of his smile look mischievous.
His shadow sometimes appears to flicker with furnace flames when he casts radiant magic.
Voice
“A low, smoky baritone with a dry edge, like iron dragged across stone. He laughs rarely but fully, with a sudden booming warmth that makes nearby cups tremble.”
Clothing
A soot-darkened leather apron over a rust-red wool tunic, heavy charcoal trousers, iron-capped boots, a blue prayer sash embroidered with tiny copper suns, and a weatherproof cloak lined with faded ochre cloth
Body Language
He plants his feet wide and rests both hands over the head of his hammer when listening. When angry, he becomes almost motionless except for the slow turning of a brass ring in his beard. When moved, he looks away and begins polishing something.
