Kisima of the Ford
Cleric
Kisima of the Ford
Species
Human
Appearance
Kisima has the open, weathered face of someone who has smiled through many difficult mornings. Her hands are broad and deft, with fingertips permanently darkened by charcoal, river mud, and crushed herbs. She moves with a gentle forward sway, as if walking on a deck that never quite stops rocking. Within a minute of meeting her, most people notice the scent of rain-damp wool, mint, and old iron that clings to her. The unexpected thing is her stillness when she listens. Her cheerful manner can vanish completely, leaving her quiet as a stone beneath clear water.
“Her voice is low, rounded, and patient, with a soft river-country cadence. She pauses before difficult answers, as if listening for water beneath the floorboards.”

Distinguishing Features
A smooth brass ring hangs from a cord at her throat, and she touches it before making any promise.
Her fingertips are stained blue-black from charcoal and herb paste.
She smells of wet wool, mint, and old iron even after washing.
A string of seven mismatched beads is tied around her left wrist, each bead representing someone she pulled from floodwater.
When she laughs, she covers her mouth with the back of her hand, then looks embarrassed by the sound.
Voice
“Soft, warm, and lightly husky, with a lilt that turns ordinary observations into confidences.”
Clothing
A moss-green wool cloak patched at the elbows, a faded blue linen dress, reed-woven sandals, and a belt hung with thread spools, tiny clay jars, river pebbles, and knotted cords. Her shield is wrapped in oilskin when not in use.
Body Language
Kisima leans slightly toward whoever is speaking, her thumb rubbing the smooth brass ring on her cord. She keeps her shoulders loose and her palms visible, but when danger nears, she plants both feet and draws the staff close across her body like a gate.
