Tupaq Ledger
Rogue 7, Inquisitive
Tupaq Ledger
Species
Cinderclaw
Appearance
A small, broad-shouldered cinderclaw with ochre scales powdered in charcoal, Scratch-Ledger moves in quick side-steps, always favoring his left foot as though avoiding an invisible puddle. His jaw is unusually square for his kind, and two blunt lower teeth show whenever he speaks or chews, giving his nervous smile the look of a badly closed filing drawer. His claws are stained purple, blue, and iron-gray from years of handling inks. He smells faintly of lamp oil, hot paper, and cinnamon resin. His hands tremble when idle but become perfectly still while examining a seal, and that sudden silence unsettles people more than his constant fidgeting.
“A quick, dry alto with frequent swallowed syllables. He speaks faster when improvising and slower when stating a lie he has prepared in advance.”

Distinguishing Features
Ochre scales are permanently dusted with charcoal around the snout, brow, and knuckles.
His lower teeth protrude in two blunt little blocks whenever he smiles.
He favors his left foot and moves in quick lateral steps.
His claws are stained in three permanent colors from alchemical inks.
His clerk's apron contains dozens of labeled pockets, each holding a duplicate seal, key, vial, or scrap of coded paper.
Voice
“Dry, hurried, and papery, with a faint rasp from charcoal dust. His laugh is a sudden squeak that he tries to smother behind one claw.”
Clothing
A soot-dark clerk's apron with too many pockets, patched trousers, soft climbing shoes, a brass-capped belt, and a sleeveless charcoal coat lined with hidden document tubes. Every pocket contains a duplicate of something important.
Body Language
His shoulders remain hunched beneath the apron, and his tail makes short, irritated taps against his calves. His eyes dart between hands, pockets, doors, and writing surfaces. When lying, he stops moving entirely and presses both claws flat against the nearest object.
