Togashi Kegashi
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Togashi Kegashi is a compact, broad-shouldered dwarf whose movements are unnervingly quiet for someone built like a keg. His beard is clipped close along the jaw but left long beneath the chin, where it has been braided with copper wire and tiny ceramic sewer tiles. His teeth are square, unusually pale, and filed flat at the edges from years of chewing bitterroot and sealing wax. When he laughs, he exposes them all at once, giving the impression of a friendly trap snapping shut. His hands are the first thing most people notice: thick-knuckled, permanently stained around the nails, and covered in fine white cracks from limewater, rust, and underground labor. He walks with a slight forward lean, not from age but from habit, as though always moving beneath a low ceiling. The contradictory impression is immediate: he looks like a blunt instrument, yet he handles coins, locks, and blades with the delicate care of a jeweler.
“Low, dry, and carefully paced. He sounds almost bored when threatening someone, but his voice becomes unexpectedly gentle when speaking to children, the injured, or old workers.”

Distinguishing Features
A copper-wired beard braided with small ceramic sewer tiles
Flat-edged pale teeth that show prominently whenever he laughs or chews
Hands roughened by limewater and metalwork, with white cracks around the knuckles
A habit of rolling a brass sluice token across his fingers without looking at it
Boot soles marked with tiny chalk lines used to record tunnel routes
Voice
“A gravelly baritone with clipped consonants and a faint upward lilt at the end of practical statements. His laughter is sudden, broad, and startlingly bright, revealing every flat-edged tooth at once.”
Clothing
A patched charcoal brigandine vest under a waxed brown coat, knee-high rubberized boots, fingerless gloves, a red scarf used as a filter against sewer fumes, and a belt crowded with lockpicks, chalk, wire, and sealed brass tokens
Body Language
He plants his feet wide and rests one thumb against the first knuckle of his opposite hand, silently counting exits, weapons, and witnesses. His head tilts toward the sound of running water. When lying, he becomes perfectly still.
