Appearance
Morwenna is a lean, weathered human woman whose composure looks purchased rather than inherited. Her olive-brown skin carries fine pale lines around the mouth and eyes, earned from years of river glare, sleepless ledgers, and hard bargains beneath wet skies. Dark brown hair, threaded with iron-gray, is braided close to the scalp on one side and gathered into a low knot on the other. Her hands are narrow and strong, with ink settled permanently into the creases of her fingers. She moves with careful economy, never wasting a step, yet one shoulder dips slightly when she walks because an old barge accident left her collarbone badly set. The contradiction is striking: her clothing suggests a courtly magnate, but her posture belongs to a dockworker who still expects a crate to fall.
“Her voice is low, dry, and controlled, carrying easily through crowded countinghouses without becoming loud. She speaks with the clipped clarity of a river clerk and occasionally lets a warm Caucasus-coloured cadence soften the ends of names.”

Distinguishing Features
A crooked collarbone that causes her left shoulder to sit slightly lower than the right.
A silver seal engraved with a river splitting around a single black stone.
Ink permanently darkening the creases of her fingers.
A thin scar beneath her lower lip from a barge-hook accident.
She smells faintly of cedar chests, bittergreen ink, and rain-wet wool.
Voice
“A low contralto with a dry river-stone rasp, controlled in public and unexpectedly tender when speaking to frightened workers or children.”
Clothing
A deep green wool coat cut in the style of the High Crown, lined with water-resistant river silk and fastened by dull silver clasps. Beneath it she wears a cream linen blouse, a charcoal waistcoat with hidden pockets, fitted riding trousers, and mud-dark leather boots. Silver thread traces old Factor route marks along her cuffs. Her gloves are fine kid leather, but the fingertips have been cut away for writing and counting coin.
Body Language
Morwenna keeps her shoulders square despite the old injury, rests two fingers against her silver seal when weighing a lie, and tilts her head almost imperceptibly when someone says something useful. In moments of genuine fear, she becomes perfectly still, as if bracing against a sudden flood.
