Appearance
Ser Caldris Ruun looks carved from a winter monument and then hurriedly dressed for war. His face is narrow, weather-browned, and crosshatched with tiny silver scars that glint whenever he turns toward firelight. One side of his beard has gone completely white while the other remains iron black, as though two different futures are growing from his jaw. He moves with unsettling economy, never quite looking where he is walking because he seems to have already seen the obstacle. His left hand is usually held palm upward, fingers twitching as if weighing invisible coins. The unexpected contradiction is that beneath his severe commander’s presence he has a soft, rounded belly and the gentle, careful hands of someone accustomed to mending children's clothing. People remember him less as handsome or frightening than as impossible to overlook, like a clock ticking in a silent room.
“His voice is low, dry, and deliberate, with the clipped cadence of a commander reading a report aloud. He pauses before names, as if checking whether he has seen them in a future he does not want.”

Distinguishing Features
Two-tone beard, half white and half black, divided almost exactly at the chin.
Fine silver scars cross his left cheek and glow faintly during prophetic episodes.
A missing fingertip on his right index finger, replaced by a hinged silver cap used for scrying.
A red thread is sewn through the hem of his cloak for every civilian saved during the siege.
His shadow occasionally points in a direction different from his body.
Voice
“A low, weathered baritone with a faint metallic rasp, as though every word has passed over a blade”
Clothing
A charcoal-blue command coat reinforced with overlapping silver plaques, a rain-dark cloak lined in faded red, polished steel boots, and a high leather collar marked with the names of civilians saved during the siege. He wears no crown or ornate rank badge, only a simple silver cord around his wrist.
Body Language
Caldris stands with his shoulders square and his chin slightly lowered, as if bracing against wind that no one else can feel. During predictions, his fingers form counting gestures against his palm. When he lies, he becomes perfectly still. When genuinely moved, he fusses with another person's collar, sleeve, or loose strap instead of making eye contact.
