Appearance

Fizzlewhim moves like someone who measures time in gear rotations: precise, slightly lopsided, forever counting beats under his breath. He is always surrounded by a faint scent of ozone and warm oil. His face is a map of fine tools — a network of tiny burn scars like constellations around his mouth and left cheek, thin lines from soldering iron slips. He wears a perpetual half-smile that makes his prominent, slightly crooked front tooth flash bright when he laughs. Unexpectedly, one of his eyes is replaced by a polished brass monocle-goggle fitted with twinned lenses; when raised, it reveals a milky, clouded natural eye beneath, as if he cherishes both the old and the new. He ambles on a pair of elaborately jointed walking canes (one collapsible into a tool-handle), but when in workshop mode he moves with the lithe, balletic precision of a clockwork dancer. The overall impression is of a man who is tidy and fussy about mechanical order yet liable to small, chaotic bursts of explosions and glittering sparks.

Height3'4"
BuildSmall, wiry, deceptively strong hands
EyesLeft eye: hazel (clouded). Right eye (gogged): multifaceted brass-tinted lens
HairIron-gray with coppery streaks
SkinWarm, freckled tan with smudges of oil

Rapid, peppered with workshop metaphors ("That logic needs a shim of empathy"), often interrupts himself to sketch ideas in the air. Will throw in a deliberately dramatic mechanical-sounding exclamation ('TICK—THRUM!') when excited.”

Distinguishing Features

Brass monocle-goggle with tiny telescoping lenses

Network of thin solder scars framing his left cheek

A small clockwork beetle that nests under his collar

Collapsible cane that doubles as a tool-rod and short spear

Voice

High, quick, with a metallic laugh at the end of sentences; fluoride-tinged consonants from years of speaking over grinding machines.

Clothing

Layered waistcoat of dark indigo treated with oil-repellent lacquer, leather tool-apron plastered with tiny pockets, brass-buttoned sleeves with articulated gauntlet cuffs, a pair of soot-streaked breeches, and knee-high boots whose soles house retractable stabilizers. He always wears a patched, once-lavish scarf from his first sponsor.

Body Language

Constantly manipulates something (tuning a gear, turning a tiny screw); when listening he tilts his head and taps a rhythm with his foot; when lying, his left hand smooths the same spot on his apron.
