Valari Thorn-Hart
Ranger 9 / Fighter 2
Valari Thorn-Hart
Species
Wood Elf
Appearance
Valari is a lean, sharp-featured wood elf woman whose stillness feels more threatening than most people's movement. Her pale skin is etched with dark forest-ink tactical tattoos, branching from her throat across her collarbones and down both forearms in patterns resembling roots, patrol routes, and old blood vessels. Her ice-grey eyes rarely blink when she is evaluating a person. Dark hair is shorn close to the scalp in a severe utilitarian cut, though one narrow lock has been deliberately left long behind her right ear and tied with red thread. She moves with economical precision, placing each foot as if the ground has already been measured. The unexpected contradiction is her hands: broad-palmed, scarred, and unusually gentle, more suited to tending wounded animals or transplanting seedlings than wielding weapons. She leaves people with the impression of a drawn bow held perfectly still.
“Low, clipped, and controlled. Valari rarely raises her voice because she expects people to listen the first time.”

Distinguishing Features
Dark forest-ink tactical tattoos covering her throat, forearms, and left cheek.
A single long lock of hair tied behind her right ear with red thread.
A crescent-shaped scar beneath her jaw from a venomous thorn.
A missing tip of her left index finger, replaced with a carved blackthorn cap.
Her ice-grey eyes reflect green in deep forest shadow.
Voice
“A dry contralto with a faint rasp, like bark dragged across stone. Her tone becomes almost tender when speaking to injured animals and utterly flat when issuing an execution order.”
Clothing
Dark iron-reinforced leather armor over a high-collared charcoal tunic, a heavy weather-beaten cloak of deep forest-green wool, fitted climbing trousers, reinforced boots, fingerless gloves, and a belt carrying signal whistles, chalk, cord, and small sealed packets of medicinal ash.
Body Language
Valari stands squarely balanced, with her shoulders relaxed and her hands visible. When listening, she angles her head slightly as though measuring a distant sound. When someone lies, one inked root-line on her left wrist darkens from charcoal to black as she unconsciously presses her thumb against it. She rarely gestures broadly, but a single raised finger can stop an entire patrol.
