About
The Third Bell is a narrow, deep-fronted general store, its shelves crowded with flour sacks, lamp oil, nails, cheap crockery, and necessities for travelers. A little brass bell hangs over the front door, while a second, louder bell is rigged to the back storeroom latch. The shop takes its name from an old flood: locals say the town bell rang three times before the water reached the market, though visitors insist the third peal was the shopkeeper's own bell. Beko, a blunt-spoken human shopkeeper with a measuring cord always looped around one wrist, remembers every unpaid tab and treats every cracked jar as a personal insult. He keeps the place clean, smells faintly of beeswax and dried onions, and will quietly round down a price for anyone who brings in useful news.
