About
The shop is called Bristleweed Supply, named for the stubborn burrs that cling to trouser legs along the frontier road and turn up in the store's floorboards every spring. Its front windows are clouded with dust, and the door gives a dry jangle of tin bells when opened. Inside, rope coils hang beside sacks of grain, lanterns, nails, and plain travel goods. The air carries the smell of lamp oil, flour, and wet wool. Owner Nessa is a human commoner, practical and watchful, with a stiff left knee and a crossbow kept close at hand. She remembers faces, keeps a careful debt ledger, and will quietly extend credit to a traveler who treats her staff honestly.
