About
The shop is called The Tis, a local shortening of “the tea-and-tisane room,” a name left over from the days when the premises sold mostly hot herb drinks. Bundles of plants hang from the rafters, turning the narrow storefront into a fragrant green maze. Glass jars crowd the shelves, each labeled in careful handwriting; a small copper kettle murmurs over a charcoal brazier near the front window. The owner, Sheshi, is a middle-aged human herbalist with a soft, sibilant voice and an unhurried manner. She wears a stained linen apron and keeps a sprig of rue tucked behind one ear. Sheshi gives practical advice freely, but insists customers pay before opening sealed bottles. Prices and stock suit a modest settlement: everyday goods are plentiful, while magical remedies are few and carefully guarded.
