About

Celeste periodically pauses mid-sentence to check the position of the moon through a high window. She insists that Blathers's dusty excavation notes are not for sale, though he occasionally leaves copies on the public table. A white-feathered owl perches above the shelves and hoots whenever someone tries to hide a book under a cloak.

Stash

4 items to steal

The stash · GM only

The shop's cash, private ledger, and most portable valuables are kept in a locked cabinet behind the counter. Celeste sleeps in a compact loft reached by a narrow rear stair; Blathers sometimes works at a table beside the back shelves.

Security check: DC 14Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) with thieves' tools to quietly pick the cabinet lock
If they fail: A tiny brass bell above the rear stair rings if the cabinet is opened carelessly. Celeste comes down from the loft with a sleep spell prepared and demands the intruders stay still while she sends for the watch. If Blathers is in the shop, he blocks the front door and loudly calls for help.
The whole haul: About 71 gp

Celeste's Star Pendant12 gp
