About

The shop, called The Hiss of the Forge, is a narrow, warm room where oil, hot iron, and leather mingle in the air. Shields hang in tidy rows along the walls, sorted by weight and grip, while a scarred fitting stand sits beneath a skylight. Customers are encouraged to strap on a shield and try turning a padded practice baton. The owner insists that a shield should fit the arm before it suits the eye, and will not sell weapons, armor, or general adventuring gear. The owner watches the front room from a workbench in the rear, where every repair is logged by hand.
