About

Astorio taps each finished blade twice against the anvil before handing it over, listening for a flaw. He discounts simple repairs for Neverwinter's working folk, but refuses to sell to anyone who cannot safely lift the weapon they ask for.

Stash

4 items to steal

The stash · GM only

The shop's valuables are split between a false-bottom till drawer at the front and a locked cabinet and office shelf in the rear work area. The rear room is close to the forge, where Astorio works within earshot of the sales floor.

Security check: DC 14Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) with Thieves' Tools
If they fail: A small bell over the rear storeroom door rings when its latch is disturbed. Astorio steps out from the forge with a heavy hammer, orders the intruders to drop what they took, and calls the Neverwinter watch if they resist or flee. The watch arrives within minutes in this busy district.
The whole haul: About 69 gp

Till pouch18 GP
Kept: Under a false-bottom drawer behind the front counter.
A leather cash pouch holding mixed copper, silver, and gold, mostly change from ordinary weapon and repair sales.
Value: 18 GP, 34 SP, 26 CP
Brass locket2 GP
Kept: On a cord beneath Astorio's work apron, usually hung on a nail in the rear room while he works.
A plain brass locket containing a tiny, faded portrait of Astorio's late sister. It has little resale value but obvious sentimental importance.
Engraving tools35 GP
Kept: In a locked cabinet beside the cooling rack.
A set of imported steel punches and fine engraving chisels, kept oiled and arranged in a fitted wooden case.
Order ledger10 GP
Kept: On a high shelf in the rear office, behind bundled trade invoices.
A ledger of orders, deposits, and outstanding debts. It includes customer names and a few guard-company commissions, making it more useful to a fence or rival than as scrap.
Value: 10 GP to the right buyer; politically sensitive if exposed.
