(14)A balanced short blade favored by scouts and duelists. Light and easy to wield with Dexterity-based fighters.
A reliable, well-forged longsword. Good balance between offense and defense.
A single-handed axe with a keen edge. Common among fighters and woodsmen.
A longbow made with well-seasoned yew and taut string. Accurate at long range when paired with quality arrows.
Brom's Balanced Hammer: a finely tempered warhammer with a trimmed haft and a faintly warm head. Favored by craftsmen who also fight.
Sturdy shield, fits most armored fighters. Adds +2 to Armor Class when wielded.
Studded leather: leather reinforced with small metal studs. Good protection while remaining quiet and mobile.
Chain shirt: flexible rings covered by a leather backing. Offers reliable protection without the weight of full chain mail.
Twenty well-fletched arrows. Standard iron tips and trimmed vanes.
Tongs, hammer, files, anvil punch, and other implements grouped in a leather roll. Required for forging, basic armor and weapon repairs, and many smith checks.
Ironcat's Tempering Oil: a small vial of dark oil mixed with powdered iron and enchanted soot. Temporarily reinforces armor plates.
Reinforced Arrows: hardened heads and balanced shafts for slightly greater penetration.
Forgefire Ember: a sliver of magically preserved coals held in an iron phial. Makes quick repairs and tempering far easier.
A small glass vial of crimson liquid. Drinking it mends flesh and bone a little at a time.
Brom Ironhand
Shop Atmosphere
“Iron & Ember Forge sits at the south end of the market, smoke coiling from its chimney like a lazy warning. The interior is warm and dim; racks of unfinished blades hang alongside coils of leather straps and racks of nails. Sparks fly in measured showers when Brom works, and the air smells of hot iron, linseed, and beeswax. A battered plaque over the anvil reads: "We mend what fate rends." Brom Ironhand stands four feet tall but fills the room with presence. His soot-streaked beard has two beads shaped like tiny hammers, and a rim of silver scars runs along his forearms. He speaks in a low, gravelly voice and enjoys telling quick, practical tales rather than philosophy. He offers mounting and basic repair services for a modest fee (5 sp to repair a weapon edge, 1 gp to re-rivet a shield, prices negotiable), will haggle a little for bulk purchases, and often trades repair work for hunted pelts or rare ore. Quirks: hums an old dwarven hammer-thrum before striking, refuses to sell masterwork tempering oil to those he deems reckless, and insists customers remove gauntlets before haggling so he can judge calluses.”
