The shop is named for a real mishap: years ago a goose waddled in during a summer storm, snatched the hanging bell's clapper, and escaped. Outsiders insist it was a goose-shaped weather vane. The front room smells of hot iron, lamp oil, and damp leather. Finished blades line one soot-dark wall, while the forge's orange glow spills through a half-open door. Batu weighs every coin twice and insists customers test a blade's balance before buying. An apprentice tends the forge during business hours.
