About

The shopkeeper keeps a tally in charcoal on the doorframe for every delivery that arrives late. He knows most locals by their usual purchases and notices strangers who linger near the office door.

Stash

4 items to steal

The stash · GM only

The shop's modest takings and valuables are kept in a locked strongbox beneath the back-office desk. The office is separated from the sales floor by a narrow storeroom, and a small bell at the front door alerts the people working there.

Security check: DC 13Dexterity check using thieves' tools to open the strongbox
If they fail: A bell tied behind the counter rings if the front door is forced. Elmar Barthen and his clerk come running from the back room; if the intruders are caught, they are detained and turned over to the local authorities, with the shop refusing them service afterward.
