About

Vaska insists that every firearm be test-fired into a sand-filled iron barrel before it leaves the shop. She marks each finished weapon with a tiny punched numeral from an old military inspection system, then records that number in her ledger.

Stash

4 items to steal

The stash · GM only

The shop keeps its cash in a locked counter drawer, while its most valuable steel and customer ledger are secured in the rear work area. Vaska's personal effects stay near the forge, where she can keep an eye on them.

Security check: DC 15Thieves' Tools
If they fail: A loose floorboard near the workbench clicks against a concealed bell wire. Vaska comes from the forge with a heavy hammer, calls for the watch, and blocks the narrow street-facing exit. If the thieves surrender, she demands restitution and turns them over to the local authorities; if they fight, she uses the shop's sturdy benches and locked weapon racks for cover.
The whole haul: About 129 gp

A small packet of rare, well-tempered steel ingots reserved for precision firearm parts.
