When you give a creature a Bardic Inspiration die, you can also choose yourself or one other creature you can see within 60 feet. That creature gains temporary hit points equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). A creature can gain these temporary hit points only once per turn. In addition, when a creature uses one of your Bardic Inspiration dice to add to an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, it can add the die to one damage roll or healing roll it makes before the end of its next turn.
When a creature you can see within 60 feet makes an attack roll, ability check, or saving throw, you can use your reaction and expend one use of Bardic Inspiration. Roll your Bardic Inspiration die and subtract the result from the creature’s roll, potentially turning a success into a failure. You can use this reaction after the roll but before the DM determines its outcome. If the creature is an ally, you can instead add the die to its roll. The creature must be able to hear you.
When you roll initiative and have no uses of Bardic Inspiration remaining, you regain one use. Also, whenever a creature uses one of your Bardic Inspiration dice and the result still leaves it failing the triggering d20 test, it can keep the die: before the end of its next turn, it may roll that die and add the result to one damage roll or healing roll. The die is then expended.
Once per Long Rest, you can use an action to begin the Final Refrain, which lasts for 1 minute or until you have the Incapacitated condition. The refrain requires no concentration. When it begins, choose any number of creatures you can see within 60 feet that can hear you. Each chosen creature gains temporary hit points equal to your Bard level + your Charisma modifier and can immediately use its reaction to move up to half its Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks. For the duration, chosen creatures have Advantage on saving throws, and once on each of their turns when they hit with an attack or deal damage with a spell, they can deal extra Thunder damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1) to one target affected. At the start of each of your turns, you can choose one creature you can see within 60 feet that can hear you: an ally regains hit points equal to your Bardic Inspiration die + your Charisma modifier, or an enemy must make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure, it has the Charmed condition until the start of your next turn and its Speed is 0 for that duration. A creature that succeeds is immune to this enemy effect for 24 hours.

Give Bardic Inspiration early and often: your level 3 feature turns it into immediate staying power as well as a later boost.
Save Counter-Melody for a roll that could change the scene, and remember that it works on allies as well as enemies. The Final Refrain is a fight-defining moment; choose a position where the whole group can hear you and make its opening movement count.
A candidate learns to make a performance carry intention, not merely sound.
Initiation usually requires composing an original rallying anthem and performing it under pressure for an audience whose safety depends on the singer's nerve. Established choruses teach breath, timing, and restraint; some also demand a vow never to let a crowd's courage be spent carelessly.
Ordinary people may welcome a Final Chorus bard as a morale-bringing hero, but rulers and generals can see them as a dangerous influence capable of turning a crowd—or a battle—against them.
