Dark Templars are psionic skirmishers who turn a rogue's precision into a shock assault. They sheath weapons in focused will, blink through guarded lines, and pin dangerous foes in coils of invisible force. Their battlefield niche is sudden melee engagement and control: arrive where the enemy is weakest, disrupt a key target, then vanish before retaliation.
Arrive unseen. Break the line. Be gone.

WisdomSubclass of Rogue
You gain a pool of Psionic Dice equal to your proficiency bonus. You regain all expended dice when you finish a long rest, and regain one expended die when you finish a short rest. Your Psionic Die is a d6; it becomes a d8 at Rogue level 10 and a d10 at level 14. Your Dark Templar save DC is 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier. Blades of Will: as a bonus action, you manifest a chosen blade from the Blades of Will list in one or both hands. It lasts until you dismiss it (no action), are incapacitated, or finish a long rest. You can use Wisdom instead of Strength or Dexterity for attack and damage rolls with these blades. Once on each of your turns when you hit with one, you can expend a Psionic Die to deal extra force damage equal to the die roll. Choose one blade when you gain this feature; you can change your choice when you finish a long rest. Shadow Charge: immediately before making a melee attack on your turn, you can expend a Psionic Die to teleport up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space you can see, then make the attack. On a hit, add the Psionic Die to the attack's damage. If the attack qualifies for Sneak Attack, it can deal Sneak Attack damage normally.
Your charge becomes a 60-foot teleport to an unoccupied space you can see. When you expend a Psionic Die for Shadow Charge, you can increase the teleport distance by 10 feet for each number rolled on the die. You also learn two control techniques, Dark Coil and Void Stasis. When you hit a creature with a weapon attack and deal Sneak Attack damage, you can use Cunning Strike to apply one of these techniques, expending the listed number of Sneak Attack dice from that damage. Dark Coil (cost: 1 die): the target must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your Dark Templar save DC or have the Restrained condition until the end of your next turn. Void Stasis (cost: 2 dice): the target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or have the Stunned condition until the end of your next turn. A creature that succeeds on either saving throw is immune to that technique from you until it finishes a long rest. These techniques are in addition to your normal Cunning Strike options.
You learn the remaining two options from Blades of Will. You can change your chosen blade option whenever you finish a long rest. In addition, when you use Dark Coil or Void Stasis, you can expend one Psionic Die to impose disadvantage on the target's saving throw. When a creature succeeds on its save against one of your Void techniques, you can move up to 10 feet without provoking opportunity attacks.
You can become invisible at will, requiring a bonus action; this invisibility ends immediately after you make an attack or force a creature to make a saving throw. You can instead expend one Psionic Die when activating it to make it last for 1 hour, ending early if you use an action to dismiss it or become incapacitated. You can also use an action to become invisible for up to 1 minute, as if under Greater Invisibility; this ends early if you are incapacitated. When activating either form, you can expend a Psionic Die to extend its duration by 1 hour for the at-will form or 1 minute for the 1-minute form. You can use a bonus action to teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. By expending a Psionic Die, increase this distance by 10 feet per number rolled. Once per long rest, you can unleash Shadow Fury as an action: choose up to five creatures you can see within 60 feet, making one melee weapon attack against each chosen creature in any order. You teleport to a space within reach of each target immediately before its attack, then return to your starting space after the attacks. You can choose a target more than once, making a separate attack each time. Each attack that hits deals its normal damage and can apply your Sneak Attack, even if you have already dealt Sneak Attack damage this turn. You are immune to all damage from the start of this action until you return to your starting space. If no unoccupied space within reach of a target is available, you can't attack that target.

Pick a high-value target, use Shadow Charge to reach it, and use Sneak Attack to make the arrival count.
Save Psionic Dice for control effects or a critical reposition rather than spending them automatically on damage. Dark Coil is best for stopping a mobile threat; Void Stasis is a powerful emergency interruption. Coordinate with allies before using area positioning or Shadow Fury, and remember that control techniques require a successful hit and a failed save.
Initiates are taught to quiet their thoughts before they are taught to move.
Training pairs blade forms with exercises in distance, timing, and controlled aggression. The final trial is to reach a guarded object, mark it with a blade of will, and leave without harming anyone who was not part of the test.
Ordinary people often mistake Dark Templars for assassins or restless spirits.
Soldiers value their ability to break a charge or reach a commander, while authorities distrust anyone who can cross a guarded room without warning.
