Dark Templars are disciplined skirmishers who turn trained thought into force. They flash across short distances, pin enemies with psychic pressure, and carve through defenses with weapons wrapped in will. Their signature is not disappearance into another plane, but the terrifying impression that they have already crossed the space between one heartbeat and the next.
The distance between you and danger is only a thought.

Hit die d8
Dexterity
WisdomSubclass of Rogue
You gain a pool of Psionic Energy dice equal to your Proficiency Bonus. These dice are d6s, become d8s at Rogue level 5, d10s at level 11, and d12s at level 17. You regain all expended dice when you finish a Short or Long Rest. You also learn to wield your will as a weapon: you can use Wisdom instead of Strength or Dexterity for attack and damage rolls with a weapon that has the Finesse property. Choose one option from the Dark Templar Blade list; you can change your choice whenever you finish a Long Rest. You gain another choice at Rogue level 9.
Your Speed increases by 10 feet. As a Bonus Action, you can expend one Psionic Energy die to Shadow Charge: immediately move up to your Speed without provoking Opportunity Attacks. This is rapid movement, not teleportation. Before or after this movement, you can make one melee attack with a weapon that has the Finesse property. On a hit, the attack deals extra Psychic damage equal to the number rolled on the expended die, and you can apply Sneak Attack to it if you have not already done so this turn and otherwise meet its normal requirements. You can also use the die to fuel one Cunning Strike option that requires a die, if available to you.
You can expend one Psionic Energy die to cast Invisibility on yourself without material components. The spell lasts 1 hour, or 1 additional hour for each Psionic Energy die expended beyond the first, to a maximum of 8 hours. You can expend one die to cast Greater Invisibility on yourself; it lasts 1 minute, or 1 additional minute per additional die expended, to a maximum of 10 minutes. You can also expend one die to teleport to an unoccupied space you can see within 60 feet; each additional die spent increases the range by 10 feet. This teleportation is a distinct psionic technique, not part of Shadow Charge. You can use these features without spending dice by casting Invisibility or teleporting up to 60 feet, but doing so requires a Long Rest before you can do so again. Greater Invisibility always costs at least one die.
As an action, choose up to five creatures you can see within 60 feet. You can choose the same creature more than once. Make a melee attack with a weapon that has the Finesse property against each chosen creature, resolving attacks in any order. You can apply Sneak Attack to each hit, even if you have already applied it this turn; roll Sneak Attack damage separately for each hit. During this action, you are immune to all damage and can move or teleport as needed to reach each target, returning to the space you occupied when you began once the attacks are resolved. If a target is no longer a valid target when its attack would occur, that attack is lost. Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a Long Rest, unless you expend three Psionic Energy dice to use it again.
DexterityWisdomHit pointsAs a Rogue: per Rogue level; 8 + your Constitution modifier at 1st level, then (or 5) + your Constitution modifier per Rogue level thereafter.
Saving throwsAs a Rogue: Dexterity and Intelligence saving throw proficiencies. The subclass's blade effects use a save DC of 8 + your Proficiency Bonus + your Wisdom modifier.
TrainingYou gain no additional proficiencies from this subclass. You retain the Rogue's weapon, armor, tool, and skill proficiencies.
ResourcePsionic Energy dice: a pool equal to your Proficiency Bonus, scaling from d6s to d12s with Rogue level; all spent dice return on a Short or Long Rest.
MulticlassingThis subclass grants no new multiclass prerequisites. Its features use Rogue level for Sneak Attack and feature progression, and its Psionic Energy die size follows Rogue level. Wisdom-based weapon attacks are available only while you have this subclass.

Dark Templar features use Psionic Energy dice to fuel psychic weapon techniques, rapid movement, invisibility, and teleportation.
Choose a psychic weapon discipline at Rogue level 3, and choose a second discipline at Rogue level 9. A discipline's damage is Psychic damage and applies only once per turn unless stated otherwise.
Once per turn when you hit a creature with a Finesse weapon, expend one Psionic Energy die to deal extra Psychic damage equal to the die roll. The target cannot take Reactions until the start of its next turn.
Once per turn when you hit a creature with a Finesse weapon, expend one Psionic Energy die to deal extra Force damage equal to the die roll. The target must succeed on a Strength saving throw ( + your Proficiency Bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or be pushed up to 10 feet away from you.
Once per turn when you hit a creature with a Finesse weapon, expend one Psionic Energy die to deal extra Psychic damage equal to the die roll. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw ( + your Proficiency Bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or have its Speed reduced to 0 until the start of your next turn.

Use your speed and Cunning Action to choose the terms of each fight.
Shadow Charge helps you reach a priority target and land Sneak Attack, while your blade discipline can disrupt or reposition that target. Save Psionic Energy dice for moments when control matters more than raw damage, and coordinate with allies to exploit the openings you create. Shadow Fury is a dramatic finisher, but its limited use rewards choosing a decisive moment.
Initiates learn breath control, close-quarters weapon forms, and the discipline of directing attention under pressure.
Their final trial is to cross a guarded training ground, reach a chosen target, and disable it without harming anyone else. Some orders teach this as military doctrine; others pass it on privately to protectors who have already awakened psionic talent.
Ordinary people often mistake a Dark Templar's sudden movement for teleportation and their silence for menace.
Soldiers value them as precise shock troops; rulers may fear their ability to reach protected targets. Those who have seen one defend a retreat often regard them as solemn guardians rather than assassins.
