Keep the Shrine from Falling
Read Aloud
The shrine shudders as roots thump under stone and black sap beads from the Eldertree’s bark. A figure of bark and shadow tears itself free, and two twisted guardians drag moonlit roots across the floor. The ritual circle is already half-lit, and it will not stay safe for long.

Battlefield Zones
1
Root Pillars
Root Pillars: thick living trunks rise from the floor, giving cover, climb points, and half-buried roots to trip on.
2
Moonwell Cracks
Moonwell Cracks: pale seams in the stone leak cold water and dim silver light that cuts shadow and stains boots.
3
Stone Steps
Stone Steps: worn steps circle the trunk above the shrine floor, good for height, bad for anyone slowed by roots.
Terrain Levers
- Split a moonwell crack with a shove to wash a 10-foot strip in silver water and briefly expose hidden shapes.
- Kick over a ritual brazier to flood one stone step with bright flame and smoke.
- Break a root pillar to open a new lane across the chamber or pin a creature in the rubble.
