Appearance
Geth Korrik is a compact dwarf with a surveyor's patience and a miner's instinct for pressure. His beard is clipped close at the jaw but left long beneath the chin, where it has been threaded with three brass measuring rings. He walks with a slight forward lean, as though the ground is forever tilting beneath him, and his boots scrape twice before each deliberate change of direction. His hands are broad, chalk-dusted, and marked by permanent red stains from old boundary pigments. The unexpected thing about him is his delicacy. He handles parchment, tea cups, and frightened animals with exquisite care, yet he treats stone walls as if they are argumentative children.
“Geth speaks in clipped, measured sentences with a low rasp, as though each word has been dragged over gravel before reaching his mouth. He emphasizes corrections by tapping one brass beard ring.”

Distinguishing Features
Three brass rings are woven into the lower edge of his beard and click softly when he turns his head.
His fingertips are permanently stained with red boundary pigment, even after washing.
He carries a brass compass with no needle, only a hairline crack that points toward the oldest nearby road.
His right sleeve is visibly longer than his left and is secured with seven mismatched bone toggles.
Within a minute of meeting him, most people notice that he pauses before every threshold to listen to the floor.
Voice
“A low, gravelly baritone with a dry edge, usually steady enough to make insults sound like measurements. When the old toll records are mentioned, his voice thins, his breath catches between words, and the brass rings in his beard begin to click.”
Clothing
A soot-gray wool coat cut too long in the sleeves, repaired with blue thread at the elbows, over a quilted leather vest. His left boot is newer and over-cared-for, polished until it shines like wet bark. He wears a red surveyor's sash beneath the coat, a brass chain around his neck, and a slate tablet strapped across his back. Every pocket contains folded paper, spare charcoal, or a tool that has been sharpened beyond necessity.
Body Language
Geth keeps his shoulders squared and his chin slightly lowered, as if sighting along an invisible level. When calm, he taps two fingers against his brass compass. When rattled, his breathing becomes shallow and audible through his nose, his beard rings click together, and he begins rearranging nearby objects into straight lines.
