Azni Konan
Steel Keeper, Specialist
Azni Konan
Species
Half-Elf
Appearance
Azni is a bald, clean-shaven half-elf with angular, almost sculpted features and a calm face that seems younger when he is amused and ancient when he is concentrating. His skin has a warm bronze tone with a faint olive cast. He moves with the loose economy of someone walking through deep water, never hurrying and never wasting a gesture. His hands are usually empty, yet Zero may be hovering beside him like a patient black sliver of moonlight. He smells faintly of cedar oil, rain-cooled iron, and bitter tea, a scent he does not realize clings to him. The unexpected contradiction is his smile, which is soft, crooked, and boyishly mischievous despite the frightening precision of his presence.
“His voice is low, smooth, and unhurried, with crisp consonants and a faint island cadence. He sounds as though he is speaking from a quiet room even when surrounded by battle.”

Distinguishing Features
A faint scent of cedar oil, rain-cooled iron, and bitter tea follows him.
Zero hovers near his shoulder even when he is not touching it.
The right cuff of his otherwise pristine uniform bears a permanent crescent of silver polishing compound.
His smile is unexpectedly crooked and youthful, sharply contrasting with his intimidating stillness.
He wears a plain brass ring engraved on the inside with the names of three dead trainees.
Voice
“A quiet baritone with a warm, dry texture, like tea poured over stone. His cadence is deliberate and almost meditative, but the occasional sharp Levantine or clipped Japanese-inflected phrase gives his calm speech a distinctive edge.”
Clothing
An immaculate black Steel Keeper uniform tailored like a high-collared suit, with a close-cut jacket, silver-gray seam lines, reinforced trousers, and soft-soled boots. The cuffs are lined with dark blue silk. His uniform is always spotless except for a permanent pale crescent of polishing compound on the right cuff, left there by habit after maintaining Zero.
Body Language
Azni stands with his weight balanced over the balls of his feet and his shoulders loose. He often rests two fingers against empty air where Zero is hovering, as if checking the pulse of an invisible animal. When angry, he becomes perfectly still except for the slow rotation of his left thumb against the ring on his right hand.
