Nalka Qhapaq
Noble
Nalka Qhapaq
Species
Dragonborn
Appearance
Nalka is a youthful blue-scaled dragonborn whose scales have the deep, polished color of storm clouds over high mountain lakes. Fine silver speckles gather along her jaw and collarbones like frost on dark stone. She moves with an odd asymmetry, placing her left foot carefully and letting her right shoulder arrive a heartbeat before the rest of her body, as though she is always stepping around an invisible puddle. Her breathing is quiet and measured when calm, but becomes a soft double-click in her throat when frightened or angry. Despite her intimidating horns and soldier-straight posture, she has an unexpectedly delicate habit of cupping small objects in both hands as if they might hatch. Her presence leaves an impression of restrained thunder trying very hard to behave at a dinner party.
“Measured and articulate, with formal phrasing learned at court and occasional mountain idioms that land with surprising bluntness. Her voice is a low contralto with a faint rasp, like stone dragged beneath running water.”

Distinguishing Features
Her throat makes a soft double-click whenever strong emotion interrupts her controlled breathing.
One horn is wrapped near the base with a faded turquoise cord bearing tiny brass road markers.
She favors her left foot on stairs and uneven ground, though she has no obvious injury.
Her lower jaw is dusted with silver scales that catch candlelight like mica.
She keeps her tail perfectly still during formal conversation, then lets it sway freely the moment she thinks nobody is watching.
Voice
“A low, steady contralto with a dry rasp. It carries easily across a crowded room, but she deliberately lowers it when discussing grief, secrets, or threats.”
Clothing
She wears layered saffron and cream robes over a fitted charcoal tunic, creating a stark contrast against her dark-blue scales. The robe hems are embroidered with tiny white mountain flowers and old road markers. A broad woven sash in rust red and turquoise holds her rapier, seal case, and a pouch of polished salt. Her formal mantle is lined with pale alpaca wool, but she wears mud-stained traveling boots beneath it, scandalously practical for a noblewoman.
Body Language
When relaxed, Nalka leans slightly forward and keeps her hands open. When suspicious, she folds her fingers into the sleeves of her robe and turns her head so one horn points directly at the speaker. When rattled, her throat clicks twice between words, her tail stiffens, and she begins unconsciously tracing triangular patterns with one claw.
