Krik Coil-Tooth
Species
Cinderclaw, Forge-Kin
Appearance
Krik Coil-Tooth is a compact Cinderclaw with charcoal scales that catch furnace light in blue-black facets. His movements are quick but carefully measured, as if every step has already been checked against a floor plan. He wears a heavy fireproof leather apron over layered work clothes, though the apron hangs slightly crooked because he has repaired one strap with braided copper wire. His arc-goggles rest on his brow when he is speaking and slide down over his eyes whenever someone mentions an unsafe temperature. A faint dusting of pale furnace ash clings permanently to the scales around his wrists. The unexpected detail is his fastidiousness: beneath the soot, his claws are polished, his tools are aligned by length, and a small white cloth is folded inside his breast pocket for cleaning the same brass pressure gauge every few minutes.
“Fast, precise, and threaded with breathy sibilants. Krik often inhales sharply before speaking, as though testing the air for smoke.”

Distinguishing Features
A single lower tooth is capped in coiled copper and clicks softly against his upper teeth when he thinks.
His left arc-goggle lens is polished clear while the right remains permanently smoked for furnace glare.
His apron strap is repaired with intricate copper braiding that matches no official forge pattern.
He carries a tiny ceramic whistle that produces three different pitches for pressure emergencies.
His hands move constantly, checking buckles, gauges, rivets, and tool edges.
Voice
“A quick, rasping tenor with a metallic undertone, like a small bell struck inside a furnace pipe.”
Clothing
Heavy fireproof leather apron, soot-dark trousers, reinforced climbing boots, copper-frame arc-goggles, fingerless heat gloves, and a cross-body harness lined with tongs, gauges, chalk, ceramic wedges, and folded heatproof cloth.
Body Language
Krik leans toward machinery as if listening to a confession. When relaxed, he rocks subtly from heel to toe. When angry, he becomes perfectly still, presses two claws against his copper gauge, and watches the person responsible without blinking.
