Yelda-Ed
Druid 2 (Circle of the Land — Arctic) / Ranger 1
Yelda-Ed
Species
Orc
Appearance
Yelda-Ed is a broad-shouldered orc woman with a weathered, workmanlike presence rather than a towering warrior's grandeur. Her movements are measured and economical, with a slight forward lean that makes her seem perpetually braced against wind. Her hands are the first thing people notice: thick-knuckled, deeply callused, and permanently roughened by bowstring, frozen bark, salt, and field dressing. She keeps her left hand warmer than the right because it handles living plants and injured animals. Her face is heavy-browed and square, but her expression is often unexpectedly patient. She smells faintly of juniper smoke, wet wool, and crushed evergreen needles. The contradiction in her appearance is that her powerful frame is paired with an almost delicate habit of touching snow, leaves, and animal tracks as if they were written letters.
“Low, rough, and economical. Her voice carries easily through wind, but she rarely raises it.”

Distinguishing Features
Her hands are heavily callused but carefully groomed, with clean nails and plant stains worked into the creases.
She walks with a slight forward lean, as though moving into constant wind, yet can become unnervingly still when tracking.
A row of tiny antler chips is sewn into the left shoulder of her cloak, each marking a winter she survived in the field.
She carries a red mitten that never matches the other one and refuses to explain why.
Her lower tusks are capped with thin copper bands dulled by years of use.
Despite her intimidating size, she lowers herself to speak with children and kneels beside injured animals without hesitation.
Voice
“Low, rough, and economical, with a dry rasp like boots on packed snow.”
Clothing
A layered hide-and-wool winter outfit beneath a sleeveless gray-green cloak. Her clothing is patched with different shades of brown thread, and the hems are weighted with small bone toggles so wind cannot whip them into branches. She wears one red mitten and one dark mitten, both repeatedly darned.
Body Language
She stands very still when listening, one hand resting on her staff and the other cupped near her ribs. When deciding whether someone is trustworthy, she watches their hands rather than their face. In danger, her shoulders lower and her steps become almost noiseless.
