Misti Mop
Species
Human
Appearance
Misti is a compact, weather-hardened woman with the stillness of someone listening for a distant crack in ice. Her hands are broad-palmed and permanently stained with green plant sap, charcoal, and red ochre. She keeps her black hair in two long, carefully combed braids tied with faded blue thread, yet the rest of her grooming is plainly practical, with mud often drying on her boots and one sleeve frequently rolled higher than the other. She walks as if every floor might give way, testing thresholds with the ball of her foot before crossing them. Her eyes rarely rest on the person speaking. They track lint drifting in the air, gaps beneath doors, reflections in cups, and the corners where walls meet. The unexpected contradiction is that her severe, watchful presence is softened by a tiny brass bell sewn inside her collar, which gives a shy chime whenever she turns her head.
“Low, measured, and slightly husky from years of speaking over rain and running water. She pauses before important nouns, as though checking whether the word fits the thing.”

Distinguishing Features
Her gaze constantly checks thresholds and empty spaces instead of resting on faces
Two precise black braids tied with faded blue thread
A tiny brass bell sewn inside her collar that chimes when she turns
Red ochre lines painted across the backs of her hands and refreshed every morning
A habit of placing one grain of salt on every windowsill where she sleeps
Voice
“A calm contralto with a dry edge, soft enough that listeners lean closer. Her laughter is sudden and bright, almost startling after her usual restraint. When she speaks Druidic, her voice becomes rhythmic and breath-heavy, like someone reciting directions beside a river.”
Clothing
A layered brown wool tunic beneath a sleeveless green mantle, reinforced leather armor softened by years of rain, wrapped trousers, mud-caked traveling boots, and a red sash carrying small pouches of salt, charcoal, dried leaves, and powdered clay. A blue cord marks her Gatekeeper service, and a brass bell is hidden inside her collar.
Body Language
She angles her body toward exits and keeps one hand near a doorframe, staff, or wall. During conversation she lightly taps out repeating rhythms against her thumb. When a boundary feels wrong, she stops blinking for several seconds and tilts her head as if listening through stone.
