Krausk Vey
Rogue, Doorwarden Commander
Krausk Vey
Species
Orc
Appearance
Krausk Vey is a massive orc whose presence seems to make corridors narrower. He stands perfectly still when listening, shoulders squared and hands folded behind his back, yet moves with the sudden economy of a falling portcullis when action is required. His skin has the dry, darkened texture of stone exposed to furnace heat, with pale salt lines gathered around his temples from years spent patrolling the Ark's steaming outer galleries. His lower tusks are capped in dull iron, not for ornament but to prevent them from splitting during long winters. He wears no obvious trophies and makes no effort to appear grand. The contradiction is striking: for a figure built like a siege engine, he handles fragile objects with extraordinary delicacy, including paper seals, small cups, and frightened children.
“Low, dry, and carefully paced. Krausk rarely raises his volume.”

Distinguishing Features
Iron caps cover his lower tusks and click softly when he clenches his jaw.
His coat lining is embroidered with the names of fallen Doorwardens, visible only when he moves.
He carries a ring of unusually large keys that makes no sound while he walks.
His palms are heavily callused but his fingertips are careful and precise.
He casts an enormous shadow under the Ark's lamps, making him seem even broader than he is.
Voice
“A resonant baritone with a dry rasp, as if every word has passed through dust and iron filings. Even whispers carry clearly through a crowded chamber.”
Clothing
A sleeveless charcoal command coat reinforced with overlapping iron plates, a high leather collar, thick gray trousers, and broad work boots whose soles are studded for traction on wet metal. His coat is lined with stitched names of Doorwardens who died under his command. He wears a plain copper key-ring at his belt and no jewelry.
Body Language
Krausk occupies space without posturing. He stands close enough that others must consciously resist stepping back, keeps his chin level, and turns his entire torso toward whoever is speaking. When considering a lie, he studies the hinges, floor seams, or ceiling supports rather than the liar's face. His hands remain calm until violence becomes unavoidable, at which point they move with startling speed.
