Level 9·Woman·Medium
Neutral good

Species

Water Genasi

Appearance

Nimolá is a broad-shouldered water genasi woman whose skin has the translucent blue-gray sheen of river stones beneath shallow water. Her movements are slow only until they matter. When listening, she leans forward with both hands resting on her cane, then moves with startling precision, as if pulled by a current no one else can feel. Her hair hangs in thick, dark teal ropes that remain damp even in dry weather, with tiny freshwater shells braided near the roots. Her most unexpected feature is her smile, which is warm, crooked, and almost mischievous, utterly at odds with the grave magistrate-like impression she gives at first glance. Within a minute of meeting her, people notice that she repeatedly checks the small brass seal at her throat without seeming aware of it.

Height6 feet 1 inch
BuildPowerful and softly rounded, with the heavy balance of someone accustomed to climbing wet stone and bracing against floodwater
EyesDeep green with gold flecks that move like sunlight beneath water
HairDark teal, almost black, with green highlights and a permanently wet texture
SkinBlue-gray and translucent at the hands, with subtle silver patterns resembling river deltas along her shoulders

Her voice is low, melodious, and carefully paced, with certain words carrying a faint echo as though spoken in a tiled cistern. When angry, she becomes quieter rather than louder.”

Distinguishing Features

A brass witness-seal at her throat that she unconsciously checks whenever someone invokes authority.

Damp teal hair braided with tiny freshwater shells.

A faint ring of rippling light appears around her feet when she is suppressing anger.

Her cane is made from pale riverwood and contains a hidden resonating crystal.

Her warm, crooked smile contrasts sharply with her severe courtroom manner.

Voice

A contralto with a soft watery resonance, intimate enough to make private remarks feel important and controlled enough to carry across a crowded hearing

Clothing

A sleeveless indigo coat over layered cream court-robes, wrapped with a green sash embroidered in wave patterns. Her boots are scaled leather with copper soles, and her cuffs contain hidden strips of waterproof parchment. The brass seal at her throat is worn on a cord rather than pinned to her clothing.

Body Language

When waiting, Nimolá places most of her weight on the balls of her feet and keeps her cane angled behind one ankle. She tilts her head toward sounds rather than faces, checks the brass seal at her throat with two fingers, and smiles faintly when someone lies badly. In danger, her posture becomes perfectly still while the air around her ripples like disturbed water.
