Milo Quick-Step
Species
Human
Appearance
Milo is a narrow, quick-moving human whose body always seems half a heartbeat ahead of the room. His face is angular and dust-paled, with a small scar cutting through his left eyebrow and a permanent crescent of black grease beneath his right thumbnail. His sharp eyes dart toward vents, ceiling joints, loose stones, and strangers' hands before ever settling on a face. His light leather tracking gear is stiff with old sweat, basalt dust, and machine grease, while his traveling coat hangs heavily with dozens of hidden internal pockets lined with folded courier map slips. He moves in jittery starts, tapping one foot even while standing still, yet becomes unnervingly graceful when crossing unstable ground. The contradiction is striking: he looks like a frightened alley thief, but in darkness his posture becomes calm, deliberate, and almost ceremonial, as though the tunnels themselves are familiar companions.
“Rapid, precise, and slightly breathless, with sudden pauses whenever he hears machinery shift. He drops into a clipped military cadence when giving directions and adopts a lazy criminal drawl when trying to appear unconcerned.”

Distinguishing Features
A cord of forged transit tokens that he constantly fingers
A thin scar through the left eyebrow
A black grease crescent permanently staining the right thumbnail
A coat whose inner lining is covered in stitched map fragments
A habit of tilting his head toward walls as if listening for hidden mechanisms
Voice
“A quick, dry tenor that cracks upward when Milo is startled and drops to a near whisper when he is telling the truth.”
Clothing
Light leather tracking harness, patched charcoal trousers, soft-soled climbing boots, a dust-stained traveling coat with dozens of concealed map pockets, fingerless gloves, brass license tags, and a cord of forged transit tokens worn as a nervous talisman
Body Language
Milo rarely stands squarely. He angles his shoulders toward the nearest exit, shifts weight from heel to toe, and fingers the forged transit tokens at his throat whenever someone asks about his past. During danger, his nervous movements stop completely, replaced by a low crouch and precise, economical gestures.
