Sahir Sheshan
Artificer, Artillerist
Sahir Sheshan
Species
Dhampir
Appearance
Sahir is a narrow-shouldered man with the poised stillness of a hunting bird and the practical hands of a mechanic. He moves with a soft, sideways glide, favoring neither foot, yet every step seems measured against an invisible firing grid. Within a minute of meeting him, people notice that his eyes rarely settle on faces. They travel instead to hinges, rooflines, chimneys, loose stones, and any surface that might support a cannon. His skin has the cool, muted tone of old ivory beneath a thin veil of blue-gray, textured faintly like polished parchment. His smile reveals small, neat fangs, but his expression is usually gentle and almost shy. The contradiction is unsettling: he looks delicate enough to bruise beneath a strong handshake, yet he handles iron shells and wounded soldiers with the calm strength of a dockworker.
“His voice is low, breathy, and carefully articulated, with soft sibilants and a slight musical lilt. He speaks quickly when explaining mechanisms, then slows dramatically when discussing death.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin line of silver-gray callus runs across both palms from years of handling hot tools and recoil braces.
His left canine is capped with a tiny brass sleeve that clicks softly against his teeth when he is concentrating.
He smells faintly of cedar oil, rain on stone, and burnt sugar.
He habitually tilts his head toward walls and ceilings, listening for structural weakness.
His shadow appears fractionally delayed when he moves quickly, a subtle sign of his dhampir nature.
Voice
“Quiet and warm, with a dry rasp beneath the breathiness, as though every sentence has passed through smoke and sand.”
Clothing
A smoke-blue wool coat cut short for climbing, layered over a quilted leather vest and a high-collared linen shirt. Brass fasteners, ceramic cartridge tubes, and leather tool loops cover the coat. His boots have ridged soles and small retractable climbing studs. A red wool scarf from his sister is wrapped twice around his neck, though he claims it is only for keeping powder dust out of his lungs.
Body Language
He stands at an angle rather than squarely facing people, keeping one shoulder free for movement and one hand near his tool belt. His fingers make tiny adjustments to screws, buckles, and cartridge caps whenever he is thinking. When sincerely moved, he becomes completely still.
