Kessra is a compact, rust-orange cinderclaw with a wedge-shaped head, broad cheek scales, and a grin that exposes two rows of small, square teeth made more noticeable by the way her lower jaw juts forward when she speaks. Her scales are matte near the spine and glossy along the elbows and throat, as if polished by years of harness straps and volcanic grit. She moves with abrupt, economical precision, always placing one claw against a railing, cable, or wall before trusting her weight. Around taller folk she takes up more space than her size suggests, planting herself beneath their line of sight and forcing them to look down. The unexpected detail is her meticulous softness: she keeps one tiny blue wool scarf wrapped around the handle of her main wrench, and becomes visibly embarrassed when anyone asks who knitted it.
