Appearance
Nadezh Oduyemi is a young human woman with an unnervingly calm presence. Her obsidian-black hair falls in thick, soft waves to the middle of her back, but several strands are always threaded through tiny black crystal beads that click faintly when she turns her head. Her deep black eyes reflect candlelight as dull violet pinpoints, making it difficult to tell where her pupils end. She moves with careful economy, never quite wasting a gesture, yet her hands tremble when she believes nobody is watching. Her skin has the warm brown tone of polished walnut, contrasting sharply with the cold black metal and crystals she wears. The unexpected impression is that she looks less like a conqueror of darkness than a tired young scholar who has dressed for a funeral and forgotten to change.
“Her voice is low, soft, and carefully articulated, with a rounded cadence touched by river-country vowels. She rarely raises it.”

Distinguishing Features
Black crystal beads click softly in her hair whenever she moves.
A thumb-sized obsidian crystal rests in a silver cage at the center of her chest.
Her left sleeve has been repaired with precise violet stitching that forms a hidden constellation.
She smells faintly of rain on stone, lamp oil, and crushed juniper.
She keeps one glove pristine and the other visibly worn through at the fingertips.
Voice
“Soft, low, and rounded, with a calm river-like rhythm. Her words become almost whisperingly precise when she is frightened.”
Clothing
She wears a black wool stola beneath a black mail-like dress made from overlapping lacquered rings. A fitted black surcoat covers it, studded with small smoky crystals that have been individually sewn back into place. The hem is visibly repaired with dark violet thread. Her left boot is polished obsessively, while the right is scuffed and dust-caked. Her staff is wrapped in old blue cloth beneath the grip, the only color she wears openly.
Body Language
Nadezh keeps her shoulders straight and her chin slightly lowered, as if listening to something beneath the floor. She touches the worn grip of her staff whenever someone mentions the NetherRealm. When relaxed, she tucks loose hair behind her right ear and lets her left hand rest protectively over the crystal at her sternum.
