Appearance
Nereth Vaelora is a compact, broad-shouldered woman with the dense strength of someone raised hauling wet stone rather than lifting weights. She moves with a slight forward lean, placing each foot silently on the outer edge before rolling inward, as if every floor might give way. Her dark copper hair is cut to her jaw and usually slicked behind one ear with fish oil, though loose strands curl around her temples in the damp. Her hands are unusually delicate for a sword thug, with carefully trimmed nails and ink stains around the cuticles. She gives the impression of a patient dockworker until she smiles, at which point her stillness becomes predatory. The unexpected contradiction is her immaculate white linen collar, washed every night and worn beneath armor stained with sewer silt.
“Low, measured, and practical. She speaks in short sentences, rarely raises her voice, and leaves deliberate pauses before answering questions that matter.”

Distinguishing Features
A perfectly clean white collar beneath visibly filthy armor.
She walks with a forward-leaning, outer-foot-first gait that makes almost no sound.
Her left thumb constantly rubs the collar seam when she is thinking.
Her laugh is soft and breathless, like water entering a cracked pipe.
Her sword hilt is wrapped in pale blue thread taken from her mother's washhouse.
Voice
“A low contralto with a dampened rasp, as though every word has passed through cold air and stone. Her threats sound almost nurturing, while her rare compliments arrive with the gravity of a verdict.”
Clothing
A dark green quilted gambeson under patched chain shirt, knee-high waterproof boots, a salt-stiff leather belt, fingerless gloves, and a spotless white linen collar. Her shield is wrapped in black oilcloth when not in use.
Body Language
She keeps her weight over the balls of her feet and angles her shield toward the nearest exit. One thumb repeatedly rubs the seam of her white collar. When relaxed, she crouches rather than sits, as if ready to rise from a flooded floor.
