Crucible-Alpha
Species
Tectonic Forged, Foundry-Tempered
Appearance
Crucible-Alpha is a tall humanoid construct built from dense grey basalt fitted with copper-plated iron at the joints, ribs, and shoulders. Heat-runes glow in thin amber lines along their forearms, shins, and throat, brightening whenever they calculate danger. Behind a thick chest grate burns a golden Star-Sand core, its light pulsing like a furnace seen through a half-shuttered door. Their hands are broad and blackened at the palms, with copper fingertips polished smooth from years of gripping casting molds. They move with deliberate weight, each step ringing through stone and metal, yet their hands become unexpectedly gentle around injured workers or fragile tools. Within a minute of meeting them, most people notice that Crucible-Alpha never looks first at a person's face. Their attention goes to feet, load-bearing beams, open flame, loose chains, and the nearest route to safety.
“Their voice is deep, measured, and slightly resonant, as if spoken through a stone-lined chamber. They use few contractions, rarely raise their volume, and let silence carry the threat that others would place in a shout.”

Distinguishing Features
A golden Star-Sand core pulses behind a thick chest grate, growing brighter when Crucible-Alpha detects structural danger.
Their palms are mirror-smooth and heat-darkened from years of holding casting molds in place.
Thin amber heat-runes run across their limbs in patterns resembling both writing and cooling cracks in stone.
Their footsteps produce a low metallic chime because small copper counterweights shift inside their ankles.
They habitually watch the load-bearing parts of a room rather than the people speaking.
Voice
“A low furnace-deep voice with a faint metallic overtone, calm enough to make panic feel embarrassing and precise enough to make every instruction sound final.”
Clothing
A soot-dark foundry apron hangs over their torso, reinforced with overlapping copper plates and stamped with the Goldwall Forges seal. They wear a broad tool belt, heatproof wraps around the forearms, a red safety cord tied around the left wrist, and a heavy half-cloak lined with ceramic scales for use during emergency evacuations.
Body Language
Crucible-Alpha stands with their weight distributed like a braced support column. Their hands remain open and low, ready to catch rather than strike, until a contract or worker is threatened. Their head turns toward vibrations before sounds reach anyone else. When uncertain, they press two copper fingers against their chest grate and listen to the rhythm of the Star-Sand core.
